Better Than Her
“It’s supposed to be funny, but it’s also supposed to be true – another break-up song – but I deliberately started out that song with, “You don’t have to stare into my big brown eyes.” I have blue eyes though not that anyone will know that, but I will know that this is a complete character song. One of the lines at the end, “Now the bells have rung, and all is done, the tin cans were drug down the road,” that’s a really heartbreaking scene to me. But then you go back into, “You can do better than her,” it’s like humorous in light of heartbreak.”Chelsea Crowell (77)
