Caught Out In The Rain
“”Caught Out In The Rain” is about being with someone who’s the last person on earth you should be with. But there’s something attractive and addictive about being with a dangerous man. And my husband is not like that at all but the men I was in relationships with before Scott were all like that – just trou-ble!”

Baddest Blues
“The lyric was inspired by my mother, inspired by Billie Holliday and inspired by a pain from love, but a pain you choose to go into, and then choose to get up out of. It’s about not being a victim even though you have been but finding a way to take back your own power, and not allow it to be something you’re going to cry over anymore, it’s done. You’re going to pick yourself up, you’re going to brush yourself off and you’re going to go back out and be willing to be broken again. That’s what I’m talking about, that kind of love, that kind of strength as a person. That’s what I saw in my mother. Because instead of her running from love for the rest of her life [after her husband, Beth’s father, dumped her] she was way open to falling even deeper again.”

With You Every Day
“Is about Scotty, my husband, and it’s true that they say sometimes, as you fall in love, and as the years go by that that love can sometimes fade for whatever reason and I have found it to be completely the opposite. As the years go by the more I realize how beyond lucky I am to be blessed with that man. And I fall more and more in love with him every day.”
