Mother Of Invention

“”Mother of Invention” is a song I wrote with a girl called Natalie Hemby out of Nashville. We originally started writing it about our lifestyles and our families growing up and the way that country people live – just kind of making do with what you’ve got and like the song says, “make something out of nothing.” Ended up when I brought it to the girls and we thought about recording it; it really is about what we do. I have a 2 year old, Savannah has a 7 month old, we just bring our babies on the road; when our drummer quit, we bought a drum kit, we just do what we need to do to get by and to be who you are. That’s basically what the song is about.”Jamie Wilson (451)
